(4 Pound) Flat Rate Priority Box, Insurance Coverage, and Delivery Confirmation.

This parcel was a returned book from Charlottesville, VA (22906)  to Pomeroy, Washington (99347). It was mailed on July 27, 2006. The rather scruffy box was the same box that I used to originally mail her book. It's a O-FRB1, the Postal Service's Four Pound Flat Rate Box. Inside dimensions are 11" x 8.5" x 5.5". At the time of printing the boxes (October 2004), the rate was $8.10 for all that'll fit.

Basic Flat Rate Priority Postage was $8.10. (Postage from 22903 to 99347 for a 2.5 pound Priority Mail package was $9.00 so she saved 90¢) The insurance coverage was most likely for $65 (she paid $64.95 for the book she was returning) at a cost of $2.30 for $50.01 to 100.00. Delivery Confirmation (The green numbered slip at the bottom) added another 50¢ for total postage of $10.90.
